This lamp was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925 for the ‘International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts‘ in Paris. Very beautiful Art Deco / Bauhaus design.
We cannot categorically say in which year this lamp was produced. Years after the exhibition, these lamps were made under license. Given the excellent condition, it is probably a slightly more recent example of this rare lamp. The lamp contains an insignia ‘Marcel Breuer Design 1925 Exposition’ engraved in the base and printed on the textile at the bottom of the base (see photos).
The lamp is in very good condition. A slight discoloration of the nickel-plated brass at the base shows a certain patina, which may indicate that this lamp was produced under license in the 1950s. All you have to do is screw in a lamp (E27 socket) and enjoy.
