An associate of humanist architect Ernesto Nathan Rogers. One of Magistretti&#8217;s first projects was the &#8220;poetic&#8221; round church in the experimental QT8 district of Milan. He later designed mass-produced appliances and furniture for companies such as Cassina S.p.A. and won several awards, including the Gold Medal of the Chartered Society of Industrial Artists &amp; Designers in 1986.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" data-start=\"197\" data-end=\"483\">This elegant <strong>Mezzachimera<\/strong> floor\/table lamp by <strong>Artemide<\/strong> was designed in 1969 by the iconic Italian designer <strong>Vico Magistretti<\/strong>. The Mezzachimera is the smaller sibling of the famous Chimera lamp and exudes the same sculptural elegance, but in a more compact form.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"784\">The lamp features a flowing shade made of frosted methacrylate that subtly diffuses the light.
